Frequently asked questions

What is menopause and how do I know if I’m experiencing it?

Menopause is a natural transition when the ovaries stop ovulating and menstrual cycles come to an end due to significant hormonal changes. It occurs in three stages:

  1. Perimenopause (35+): Hormone levels begin to fluctuate, leading to irregular periods, hot flashes, mood swings, night sweats, and sleep disturbances.
  2. Menopause (after 12 consecutive months without a period): The body adjusts to lower hormone levels, and symptoms like vaginal dryness, fatigue, weight gain, and emotional changes may persist.
  3. Postmenopause (usually after age 60): Symptoms often lessen, but the long-term effects of lower hormone levels increase the risk of osteoporosis, heart disease, and metabolic changes.

How do hormones change during menopause?

As menopause progresses, key hormones decrease, leading to noticeable changes:

  • Estrogen decreases: causes hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, and mood swings, while increasing the risk of osteoporosis and heart disease.
  • Progesterone decreases: leads to anxiety, insomnia, and irregular periods.
  • Testosterone decreases: results in low libido, fatigue, and muscle weakness.
  • Cortisol decreases: increases stress sensitivity, anxiety, and emotional fluctuations.
  • Metabolism decreases: leads to weight gain, especially around the abdomen, and raises the risk of insulin resistance.

These hormonal shifts impact overall health, but lifestyle changes and medical support can help manage symptoms.

This is integrative care is designed to help you feel balanced, supported, and strong through every stage of life.

Why is blood work required and when should it be done?

Our comprehensive diagnostic panel evaluates biomarkers across six core systems: hormone balance, thyroid function, metabolic health, cardiovascular risk, inflammation and blood health, and liver and kidney function.

During peri-menopause and menopause, hormone levels fluctuate. Blood work is used not only to assess hormone patterns, but also to:

  • Rule out underlying conditions
  • Ensure treatment safety
  • Establish a personalized clinical baseline
  • Guide dosing and long-term monitoring

When should blood work be completed?

  • Regular cycles: Ideally between days 19–21 of your cycle
  • No period for 12+ months: Anytime
  • Irregular cycles: Aim for days 19–21, counting from your most recent period

All labs should be completed in the morning after a 12-hour fast, unless otherwise directed.

What is the cost of the virtual Perimenopause and Menopause Care program?

Your initial investment includes:

  • $50 for comprehensive bloodwork
  • $200 clinician consultation fee (only charged if treatment is prescribed)

Ongoing care is $200 per quarter, which includes your virtual clinician consultation, lab review, treatment optimization, and continuous monitoring. In some cases, semi-annual visits may be appropriate based on clinical progress.

Your program includes far more than a prescription:

  • Comprehensive hormone and metabolic panel
  • Personalized treatment strategy
  • Expert-guided therapeutics (when appropriate)
  • Quarterly clinician oversight
  • Unlimited health coach support
  • Dedicated wellness check-ins
  • Structured lifestyle and performance protocols

This is continuous, precision-guided care designed to optimize results safely and sustainably.

Medication costs are billed separately.

What treatment options are available for menopause symptoms?

Menopause symptoms can be managed with Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT), which restores key hormones to alleviate discomfort. Treatment options include pills, patches, and creams, depending on your needs and lifestyle. If BHRT isn’t suitable, non-hormonal medications or supplements may be recommended to help with energy, sleep, and overall wellbeing. Our licensed clinicians will guide you toward the best treatment for your symptoms.
