How does virtual care work from start to finish?

Your journey with Science & Humans begins with:

Step 1) Online Health Assessment

  • Designed to understand your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle and goals.
  • If appropriate, a corresponding bloodwork panel will be sent to your secure care portal to be completed at a licensed laboratory.

Step 2) Bloodwork & Health Review

  • A Canadian-licensed clinician then reviews your assessment and results and meets with you virtually to discuss findings and recommend a personalized treatment plan.

Step 3) Prescription Approval

  • If treatment is prescribed, medications are dispensed by our accredited pharmacy and delivered discreetly to your door, or sent to your preferred pharmacy if requested.

Step 4) Continuous Care

  • Ongoing care includes quarterly follow-ups, repeat lab work when needed, and continuous clinician support to adjust your plan and optimize your health over time.

What if I need to speak to someone before a follow up?

How can I get coverage for S&H services?

Prescription medications may be covered through private or employer drug plans, depending on your policy, and our pharmacy can directly bill insurance when available. Some employers offer Health Spending Accounts (HSA/PHSP) that may reimburse eligible medical expenses, including prescriptions and, in some cases, consultation fees. Consultation fees are typically paid out of pocket but may be eligible for insurance reimbursement or provincial coverage in limited cases. If not reimbursed, eligible medical expenses may be claimed on your Canadian income tax return.

Who is the treatment provided by?

Treatments are provided by licensed Canadian Nurse Practitioners and health coaches.

Can I use my pharmacy to fill my prescriptions?

Yes, prescriptions can be sent to your preferred pharmacy, please note that there will be a $25 admin fee.

Do you offer your services in other languages?

Yes, we provide our services in both English and French.

Is signature required upon delivery?

Yes, for all controlled substances. Non-controlled substances do not require a signature.

Is this legal and safe?

Yes — treatments are prescribed legally once eligibility and intake criteria are assessed by licensed clinicians based on medical necessity.

Payment Policy

When is payment deducted?

Payment is processed once you’ve completed your intake assessment and a clinician has reviewed your information, confirmed eligibility, and approved you to begin treatment and subscription setup.

What payment methods do you accept?

We currently accept all credits including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, as well as prepaid debit.

How much does the medication cost?

Varies by medicine and amount shipped; often lower than local pharmacy prices as there are no pharmacy mark-ups.

When am I charged for the medication?

Upon placing the order; refunds apply if the prescription isn’t approved.

Can I receive receipts for insurance or tax purposes?

Yes — you can request itemized receipts for consultation fees, lab requisitions, and medications, which may be used for insurance reimbursement or to claim eligible medical expenses on your Canadian income tax return.

Personal health information is only shared when required for care coordination, with your consent, or when legally obligated.

Can I request my records or have them shared with another provider?

Yes, you can request copies of your medical information or ask us to share it with another clinician or health provider, in line with privacy rules and with your consent.

How does the virtual Men’s Hormone Health program work?

Our virtual Men’s Hormone Health program starts with a quick online health assessment, followed by a comprehensive biomarker blood panel to evaluate your hormone levels and overall health. After your results are reviewed, you’ll have a video consultation with a licensed clinician to discuss your symptoms and receive a personalized treatment plan. If prescribed, your medication is shipped directly to you in a three-month supply, with quarterly follow-ups to monitor progress and adjust your treatment as needed. Your initial investment includes:

  • $150 clinician consultation fee (only charged if treatment is prescribed)

Ongoing care is $200 per quarter, which includes your virtual clinician consultation, lab review, treatment optimization, and continuous monitoring. In some cases, semi-annual visits may be appropriate based on clinical progress.

What is Testosterone?

Testosterone is a key hormone responsible for energy levels, muscle mass, fat distribution, libido, and mood. What does the blood work include and when should it be done?

Our comprehensive biomarker blood panel measures testosterone levels, key hormone markers, and overall health indicators to assess if TRT is right for you. Blood work should be completed in the morning between 7am-10am, after a 12-hour fast, as testosterone levels are highest at this time.

What treatment options are available for low testosterone?

HRT can be administered through injections, gels, or creams, depending on your preferences and medical history. Your clinician will guide you in choosing the best method for your lifestyle and treatment goals.

Will hormone therapy affect my fertility?

Traditional testosterone therapy can reduce fertility by suppressing the body’s natural hormone signals involved in sperm production. If preserving fertility is important to you, your clinician can design a treatment plan that includes fertility-supportive options, such as hCG, while still addressing low testosterone symptoms.

How does hCG (Pregnyl) support fertility within the program?

hCG works by stimulating the testes in a way similar to luteinizing hormone (LH), helping maintain sperm production and natural testosterone production. When appropriate, it can be used alongside testosterone therapy or as part of a fertility-preserving treatment plan.

Who is eligible for fertility-preserving treatment options?
